In Mumbai, the ongoing strike by resident doctors has reached its 10th day, with representatives from the Central Maharashtra Association of Resident Doctors (MARD) expressing their intention to meet with Chief Minister Eknath Shinde soon. A spokesperson for Central MARD reaffirmed their commitment to the protest until their demands are addressed by the state government. Meanwhile, the Municipal Medical Teachers Association has decided to delay their planned mass casual leave protest to allow the BMC administration time to enhance hospital security. This decision comes after the association's members refrained from work on Saturday, resulting in reduced hospital services for patients. Several hospitals, including KEM, LTMG, Nair, and Cooper, have experienced significant decreases in their daily outpatient department (OPD) capacity, with patient numbers declining by over 50% on strike days.
